IIS – Internet Information Services merupakan Aplikasi Web Server pada windows. Bukan pada server windows saja tapi windows Desktop Client, IIS sudah terintegrasi didalamnya. Untuk saat ini IIS sudah versi 7.5 terdapat pada Windows 7 dan Windows Server 2008 R2. Versi IIS di bawah 6.0 hanya mengenal bahasa ASP.NET untuk membuat website. Untuk IIS 7.x sudah bisa terintegrasi dengan PHP.
Untuk ASP.NET terbaru adalah ASP.NET 4 yang tentunya mengalami penambahan fitur dan mendukung Silverlight 4 dan HTML 5. Disini saya akan menjelaskan step by step instalasi IIS di Windows Server 2003 Enterprise. Silahkan diikuti 
1. Klik Start – Control Panel – Add Remove Program
2. Pada Window Add or Remove Programs pilih Add/Remove Windows Components
3. Pada Windows Components Wizard, centang Application Server, pilih button Details
4. Pada Window Application Server terdapat component-component Application server. salah satunya terdapat IIS. Pilih OK
5. Masukkan DVD Windows Server 2003 Enterprise untuk memulai instalasi Component-component, salah satunya IIS. Pilih Next untuk memulai proses instalasi.
6. Setelah selesai. Pilih Finish
